Workspace design has been overlooked for decades in the country like Bangladesh where most business leaders have been trying to implement the same one standard environment for all — just like same size fits all strategy! 

Though it’s a fact that — creating a workspace that can cater every staff member is quite unrealistic, but by offering a workspace with variations and controls in their hand can make employees productive and add inspiration at what they do. 

By human nature, human brain functions well in an environment that they can control, it’s may be the ambience, lighting or views. To create inclusive workspace you can do the followings—

• Provide activity based workspace, means provide quiet space for tasks require quiet space and lively space for activities that require collaborations and socialising. By having variations employees will have the option to choose space based on the task they’re working. This approach may improve productivity and job satisfaction.
• Provide a variety of intentional environments like phone booth, focus pods, phone free zone, lactation room, decompression room, gymnasium, and even a green space with plants. These purposefully built spaces supports employees’ diverse needs and promotes a healthy work-life integration.
• Provide a customisation option to people, so they can adjust preferences in different areas of the premises like auditory experiences— some activities require pure silence, some are simply better with a soft background music like rainfall that masks distractions and enhances focus. Similarly, incorporating a variety of options in furnishings, like fixed chairs or movable chairs, can give people a chance to choose a sitting that is more comfortable and appropriate if any health conditions. 

Not the same strategy to inclusive workspace design will fit every organisation; you need to design your workspace by considering diverse styles in space planning, technology and policies that are appropriate to your business nature.
